Privacy Notice

The controller of your personal data is TRUTHSEEKER s.r.o., Šumavská 493/10, 602 00 Brno, Czech Republic, Company ID (IČO) 19876106, the operator of Baker House Apartments. For any privacy question, write to info@bakerhouseapartments.cz.

Booking and stay. When you book, we process your name, e-mail, phone, country, dates, apartment, number of guests, your note, the price and payment status, and the messages we exchange about your stay. We need them to make the booking, provide the stay and communicate with you — this is performance of the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Without them we cannot accept the booking.

Payment. Card payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive your card details — only the confirmation that the payment went through.

Legal obligations. We keep the guest records required by law (identity details for the register of guests and for reporting foreign guests to the Foreign Police), and invoices and accounting records — this is compliance with a legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).

Protecting our rights. We may keep booking and communication records so that we can document and defend legal claims — this is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Business enquiries. If you send an enquiry through the form for companies, we use your contact details and message only to handle that enquiry.

Website analytics. With your consent, the website uses Google Analytics (via Google Tag Manager), provided by Google Ireland Limited, so we know how the site is used. It stores cookies in your browser (_ga, _ga_*), and the data may be linked to Google's advertising features. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time via the Cookies link in the website footer; withdrawal does not affect processing before it. Without your consent, Google Analytics is not loaded and these cookies are not stored.

Anonymous booking statistics. Regardless of your choice in the cookie banner, the website itself counts searches and the individual booking steps; it stores only the dates entered, the number of guests, the offers shown, the price and the page language, without cookies, without an IP address and without any visitor identifier, so this data cannot be linked to a specific person.

We share data only to the extent necessary with:

• providers of the services we use to run the business — the reservation system Beds24, the payment provider Stripe, providers of web hosting, databases and e-mail, tools for internal team notifications, and tools for guest messaging and translation (including tools that use artificial intelligence),
• our accountant,
• public authorities where the law requires it (for example the Foreign Police or the City of Brno).

If you book through Booking.com or Airbnb, we receive your data from that platform, and the platform's own privacy policy also applies.

Some of these providers process data outside the EU (for example in the USA). Such transfers are protected by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or by the EU standard contractual clauses. We do not sell your data.

We keep data only as long as necessary:

• booking, payment and communication records for as long as accounting and tax law requires and for the period in which legal claims can arise from the stay — at most 10 years after the stay,
• the register of guests for 6 years, as the law requires,
• business enquiries for as long as needed to handle them, at most 3 years,
• website analytics data for at most 14 months.

You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict its processing, to data portability, and to object to processing based on legitimate interest. Write to us at info@bakerhouseapartments.cz — we will reply within one month.

You can also lodge a complaint with the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů): uoou.gov.cz.

We do not use automated decision-making that would have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
